

There are only three accessible rooms, which helps to ratchet up the anxiety and atmosphere, and it featured many firsts for the series, like wonder weapons, utilities, and power ups. Nacht der Untoten, which is German for Night of the Undead, was the map that started it all, and while it is relatively barebones and simplistic today, it was a tense and rewarding experience which left fans clamouring for more zombies action. Moon is totally badass and out of this world. It also hosts perhaps the best Easter egg of the entire series, which sees Earth being completely obliterated by moon rockets. Serving as one of the largest zombies maps, Moon is notable for bringing a ton of new features to the series, as well as taking place on the freaking moon! How can you not love that? You’re able to teleport between Area 51 and the moon, and being on it feels completely fresh and original, complete with low-gravity environments, areas without oxygen, and the new astronaut zombie which teleports you away and steals your perks. It’s one of the smaller maps, but it’s easily one of the most fun. There’s also new weapons and buildables aplenty, like the Subsurface Resonator and the Time Bomb, which allows players to travel back in time when it’s thrown.

There’s the pain-in-the-ass ghost woman who haunts the mansion, and Arthur, the giant who helps you if you give him candy or booze. It takes place in a buried Western town (hence the name), and features tons of interesting enemies and NPCs. While it may look like it, Shangri-La this was not.īuried is perhaps the scariest zombies map, and easily one of the most difficult. On top of that, a new wonder weapon, the 31-79 JGb215 gave you the ability to shrink zombies and run them over like a giant. New utilities like a water slide and mine cart made traversing the map exciting, and new speciality zombies like the Napalm and Shrieker always kept you on your toes. Not only is it gorgeous to look at and explore it includes a ton of new features which fans instantly adored.
